It is with great difficulty that Abbot Aimilianos of Simonopetra might qualify as Athonite. An odd personality, histrionic, with convoluted cerebral speech, with no Athonite apprenticeship, he lived a considerable part of his life outside Athos and chode to die away from Athos.
